The Nature of Place
A sense of place is different for everyone. This piece is the embodiment of not having yet found a true sense of place. Conveying the overwhelming confusion and chaos that can occur when this question is posed ‘What is your sense of place?’ I’ve chosen to portray this in a tactile fashion to create intimacy and depth to the emotions that are contained. The use of multi-media reflects the chaotic nature of life and its different directions. Within this year I found myself reflecting back to when I was more spiritual in nature and valued the smaller things. This can be seen to influence this project as it is one’s nature to live and experience life to then settle in a place within themselves. Inspired by my own lack of self-awareness of, my sense of place and the conundrum when evolving my perspective on what this illustrates. This handmade book has been created to provoke your own thoughts and ask yourself ‘what does sense of place mean to me?’ Introducing, The Nature of Place.
